Music itinerants – Drum, Piano and Brass instrument teachers

Part time, Permanent
Secondary (Years 9-13)

Tamaki College is an AIMHI school and the original Manaiakalani Secondary School,
leveraging digital technologies to improve student learning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic drum, piano and brass instrument itinerant tutors to support
our music programme at our college. These roles have the ability to be combined or to be
separate. Please state your preference in your cover letter.

  • Itinerant drum tutor – 4 hours class contact per week
  • Itinerant brass instrument teacher – 4 hours class contact per week
  • Itinerant piano instrument teacher – 4 hours class contact per week

These positions are to commence as soon as possible. They require the preparation and ability to prepare students from beginners to Level 3 NCEA.

All potential candidates need to hold either a current teacher registration or limited authority
to teach (LAT). Will be innovative, collaborative, energetic and has a proven track record of
teaching NCEA in a multicultural environment, as well as a sound understanding of the latest
curriculum and committed to the school’s vision, embracing the school values of Respect,
Innovation, Success and Excellence (RISE)
