Nepote Hingano – Deputy Principal (Student Support)

Mr Hingano was born in Tonga and was educated in New Zealand before graduating from Brigham Young University – Hawaii with a Bachelors in Social Work (Honors), minoring in Sociology. He was employed by the University in the Housing & Residential Life Department in a Senior Management role as the Residential Life Coordinator, helping to manage and oversee staff and provide pastoral care for all students living on campus.

Mr Hingano is an Alumni of Tamaki College who lives locally in Glen Innes. He started as our Attendance Counsellor in 2016 prior to his appointment as Director of Pastoral Care in 2019 in the Senior Leadership Team. In 2022 he was also given the responsibility of Head of Learning Area for Learning Support and also Special Education Needs Coordinator(SENCO). In 2024 Mr Hingano received his Graduate Diploma in Teaching(Secondary) from the University of Waikato and was then appointed as the Deputy Principal.
