Mr. Hingano, a proud alumnus of Tamaki College and a resident of Glen Innes, brings a wealth of experience in student support and pastoral care to his role as Deputy Principal of Student Support.
Born in Tonga and educated in New Zealand, Mr. Hingano earned a Bachelor of Social Work (Honors) with a minor in Sociology from Brigham Young University – Hawaii. He then served in a Senior Management role as the Residential Life Coordinator within the university’s Housing & Residential Life Department, where he was responsible for staff management and providing pastoral care to on-campus students.
Mr. Hingano joined Tamaki College in 2016 as an Attendance Counsellor, progressing to Director of Pastoral Care in 2019, where he became a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team. In 2022, his responsibilities expanded to include Head of Learning Area for Learning Support and Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO). After completing a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) from the University of Waikato, he was appointed to his current position as Deputy Principal of Student Support in 2024.
